MOTOR MECHANIC

The incumbent report to the Workshop foreman

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for all maintenance and repair works carried out on Council vehicles in accordance with Company procedures and programmes.
• Attending to breakdowns of council vehicles
• Assist the foreman in producing monthly report to the Director of Engineering Services.
• Investigate and generate quality failure analysis reports for all vehicles.
• Reads and interpret mechanical diagrams
• Generates progress reports on work done, work in progress and outstanding spares.

Requirements

• Class 1 Motor mechanics
• Should be a qualified Artisan with at least 3 years’ experience.
• Clean Class 2 Driver’s Licence
• Should be computer literate
• Should have at least three years working experience in both petrol and diesel engines
• Work experience in a related field of work is an added advantage
