About the Role:
The MEL Officer will play a pivotal role in assessing the effectiveness and impact of our programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and donor requirements.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
• Design and implement evaluation frameworks and monitoring systems.
• Collect, compile, analyze quantitative and qualitative data; maintain high-level data quality.
• Conduct field visits to monitor project rollout and gather feedback.
• Prepare comprehensive reports on project performance and outcomes.
• Collaborate with program teams to integrate MEL findings into program improvement.
• Train staff on MEL methodologies and data collection best practices.
• Manage MEL databases, ensuring integrity and alignment with organizational strategies and performance plans.
• Support proposal development and fundraising efforts.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Monitoring & Evaluation, Development Studies, Statistics, or related field.
• Master’s degree or diploma/certificate in Project Management/MEL is a plus.
• At least 3 years’ experience in MEL, preferably in development or humanitarian sectors.
• Proficient in statistical software (e.g. STATA, SPSS, Epi-Info).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Knowledgeable about donor reporting standards and MEL best-practices.
• Strong ability to work independently and under tight deadlines.
