Monitoring and Evaluation Officer – Fost
Location: Harare Urban with Outreach Work in Manicaland and Mashonaland Central Provinces of Zimbabwe
Main purpose of job
To contribute to the effectiveness of the organisation by developing and ensuring the implementation of the organization’s Monitoring and Evaluation and Knowledge Management policy and procedures. To support the organization in its fundraising efforts to support the vulnerable communities that it serves
Must be a self-starter and be able to meet deadlines and work under pressure. Applicants must be independent, self-motivated, capable to handle tight deadlines and able to work with minimum supervision; High competence in written and spoken English; Experience in participatory monitoring and evaluation methodologies, analysis of information and dissemination of information; Ability to network and build multi-sectorial partnerships; Must be enthusiastic and committed to the welfare of children; Have a good understanding of social issues affecting orphaned and vulnerable children; Experience in designing and conducting surveys/assessments is highly preferable; Computer literacy is a must, especially in MS Excel, MS Word, MS Publisher and database management and Microsoft access packages; Analytical skills, attention to detail and commitment; Willingness to take on new tasks and learn new skills as required; Willingness to travel to conduct duties in a rural setting.
Implementation of the organizational monitoring and evaluation and knowledge management policy; Writing articles for the updating of the organization’s website; Packaging organizational reports and documents, Proof reading reports and documents; Proposal development for the purposes of fund raising and identifying opportunities for funding; Attend to communication and referral systems meetings with stakeholders and partners and reporting on them; Write articles for production of a quarterly newsletter covering the Organization’s programme; Production of information leaflets and brochures and other publicity information; Filing and maintenance of a Resource Centre for use by Organization’s staff and partners; Organization’s presentations and stands at shows, conferences, forums and other public events; Supporting Organization’s partners, stakeholders and programme staff to record and document their activities and experiences in a variety of ways; Any other relevant topics identified in liaison with the Programme Manager; Any other duties reasonably assigned by the Programme Manager.
Minimum hiring standards
At least a holder of a Degree in statistics, social work, development, education or other relevant discipline. A Master’s Degree will be a plus.
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the fields stated above. Experience of working in an NGO environment in emergency related programming will be an added advantage.
