Job Description
The Mobile Equipment Engineer is responsible for providing operational service to the Mine. The role ensures effective and safe movement of men, ore and material in the decline shaft or haulage and the associated maintenance and construction linked to the operational area of responsibility.

Duties And Responsibilities
The major work output of the role is

Ensure compliance with Social Performance requirements that include identifying and managing risks with social and human rights impacts
Ensuring legal compliance and maintenance to standards in area of responsibility.
Providing technical assistance in installation and maintenance of company equipment.
Ensuring availability of primary production machinery to required level.
Management of contractors of LHD, Rig and Roof Bolter maintenance to achieve KPI’s
Providing technical advice to the foremen.
Ensuring that the business plan is achieved.
Ensuring that the mining process remains fully operational.
Good employee relations and safe achievement of production performance.
Carry out 1st, 2nd and 3rd line maintenance of mobile equipment
Attending to breakdowns and emergencies as required.
Down time of units is minimized.
Ensuring Employee Effectiveness.

Qualifications And Experience
Requirements

At least 10 years’ experience at a Managerial level within a Mining environment
Experience working with underground mobile equipment
Knowledge of Safety, Health, and Environment systems
Medical certificate of fitness
Working experience with SAP
Member of a Professional Engineering body e.g ZIE/ECZ or (working towards membership)
This role is in the Engineering Department at D3 level reporting to the Engineering Manager

Qualifications
BSc Mechanical Engineering Degree – Plus 10 Years post qualification Experience or,
HND in Diesel Plant Fitting/Diesel Mechanic –Plus 15 years post qualification experience.
Basic computer literacy.
Working Knowledge of a Planned Maintenance Package e.g. SAP.
Proficiency in English.
Clean Class 4 Drivers License and DDC.
