One of our clients in the mining sector is looking for a mining blaster. The incumbent should be willing to relocate to Kwekwe. The organisation provides accommodation and food
Duties And Responsibilities
Following instructions or diagrams, lay out drill pattern and determine depth and diameter of blast holes
Conduct field tests to determine type and quantity of explosives required
Assemble primer charges using selected detonators, fuses, detonating cords and other materials
Load explosives in blast holes as required (using equipment or by hand)
Connect electrical wires, detonating cords or fuses into series and connect series to blasting machines; control detonation device
Handle, store and transport explosives and accessories in accordance with standard procedures, criteria and regulations, ensuring maximum safety
Ensure that the highest level of quality of operation is consistently maintained
Help minimise downtime and wastage
Complete all safety requirements for all applicable equipment and machinery
Generally assist other team members as and when required
Assist with designated projects to ensure smooth operations
Assist with ensuring that all tasks adhere to all aspects of safety issues, including equipment
Improve working operations and safety
Assist with assessment and allocation of required supplies
Qualifications And Experience
Relevant qualification
Blasting licence (registered under ministry of mines)
