Key Responsibilities

  • Ensuring equipment is working properly, safely and efficiently.
  • Testing, calibrating, installing, repairing, ensuring good maintenance practice and inspecting manufacturing equipment and monitoring devices.
  • Performing general maintenance on the equipment and related designs of the plant.
  • Monitoring the performance of systems and ensuring instrumentation systems meet statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensuring the plant or machinery meets NSSA safety requirements at all times.
  • Understand, interpret and implement quality requirements for machinery.
  • Keep clean, updated records of maintenance breakdowns.
  • Ability to mentor apprentices.

Requirements

  • National Certificate in Millwright Work.
  • Millwright Class 1 Journeyman Card.
  • At least three years of post-apprenticeship experience in FMCG maintenance.
  • PLC & VFD experience.
  • Ability to communicate on all levels.
  • Ability to prioritise workload.
  • Report writing and analysis.
  • Computer literacy.
  • A clean Class 4 Driver’s License is an added advantage.
