Job Summary
To facilitate a strong and engaged membership. The Membership Officer – Recruitment is the main contact for all IoDZ prospective members regarding their membership enquiries, applications, and renewals. The Membership Officer will be expected to propose and implement membership recruitment strategies (in collaboration with the Membership Officer – Experience). He/She will act as the primary point of contact for all enquiries about individual membership, providing an excellent level of service, converting prospects to members, and ensuring current members renew.
Duties And Responsibilities
1. Perform outbound welcome and sales calls and/or email to new members. Work with the Membership Officer – Experience and implement membership recruitment strategies.
2. Deliver an excellent level of service to members, ensuring well-informed and prompt responses to membership enquiries, cost efficiency and system development.
3. Develop a thorough knowledge of IoDZ members ensuring identification of any emerging trends, aspirations, behaviours, and needs.
4. Develop and implement tools, channels, and activities to ensure a smooth membership sign up and payment process, as well as strong membership engagement, whilst accurately maintaining, recording, and updating the CRM database.
5. Work with the Financial Controller to ensure correct processes are in place to maximize the efficiency of the CRM in terms of membership subscription payments including direct-debits and send out invoices, reminders, and follows up on payments.
6. Provide regular data and statistical analysis to the Marketing and Business Development Manager regarding recruitment and retention activity such as: new member route, recruitment & retention results against target, potential and actual lapses.
7. Provide consistently high-quality customer service to members and prospective members through all forms of communication including phone, email, letter and face-to-face.
8. Develop a thorough knowledge of the CRM database system. Train other staff on database inputting and data extraction where necessary.
9. Responding to all tasks set by the Iodz Marketing and Business Development Manager in a timely and effective manner; to assist/cover other staff members when required.
Qualifications And Experience
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
1. Degree in Public Relations/ Sales and Marketing/ Social Sciences or related relevant Business Qualification.
2. Relevant Master’s degree is a distinct advantage.
3. At least 3 years’ Experience in a Similar environment.
CRITICAL OR TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
1. An energetic, forward‐thinking, and creative team player with the ability to drive innovation, specifically, regarding service technology, in member delivery in the areas of sales and service
2. A decisive individual who possesses a strategic focus, as well as an operational and detail-oriented perspective.
3. Must be able to use a collaborative management style that promotes effective communication and teamwork.
4. Experience of working within the membership function of a professional.
5. Strong skills and experience in using a membership CRM database
6. Sound knowledge and experience of using key applications (e.g., Excel, Word)
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
8. Keen attention to detail and accuracy in recording statistical data and providing reports
9. Excellent organisational, administrative and time management skills
10. Experience of working in a multi-tasking small team
11. Empathy with the not-for-profit sector
12. Self-motivated, able to priorities work to meet tight deadlines
13. Confident person, able to communicate with people at all levels
14. Customer-focused
