Key Responsibilities
- Design, install, commission and maintain integrated mechanical, electrical, electronic and automated systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair electromechanical and automated equipment used in mining and mineral processing operations.
- Maintain and optimise motors, drives, sensors, actuators, control systems and automated machinery.
- Work with PLC, HMI and SCADA-based control systems.
- Integrate mechanical equipment with electrical and automation systems to improve plant performance.
- Diagnose equipment failures and conduct root-cause analysis.
- Support preventive and predictive maintenance programmes.
- Assist with the commissioning, modification and upgrading of mining and mineral processing equipment.
- Work closely with mechanical, electrical, automation and process engineering teams.
- Ensure that equipment operates safely, efficiently and reliably.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechatronics Engineering or an equivalent engineering qualification.
- Practical experience with electromechanical systems, industrial automation and control systems.
- Knowledge of PLCs, sensors, variable-frequency drives, motors, actuators and industrial instrumentation.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical and control-system drawings.
- Experience in mining, mineral processing, manufacturing or heavy industrial environments will be an advantage.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to work at operational sites and processing plants.
