Mechanical Engineer – Mining Sector
Our client, a well-established organisation within the mining industry, is seeking a highly experienced Mechanical Engineer to join their team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a technically strong individual to contribute to the efficiency, reliability, and sustainability of critical mining operations. The ideal candidate will bring proven expertise in mechanical systems management and a track record of success in demanding industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of mechanical equipment across mining operations.
• Lead root cause analysis of breakdowns and implement solutions to minimise downtime.
• Develop and execute preventative and predictive maintenance programmes.
• Ensure compliance with industry safety, health, and environmental standards.
• Manage engineering projects from planning through to execution and commissioning.
• Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior engineers and maintenance teams.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise equipment performance and reduce operational costs.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 7 years’ relevant experience in the mining or heavy industrial sector.
• Strong knowledge of mining equipment, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Demonstrated ability in maintenance planning, troubleshooting, and project delivery.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills.
• Willingness to work in challenging and remote mining environments.
