Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine inspection, servicing, and preventative maintenance of plant machinery
- Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs promptly to minimize production downtime
- Install, align, and commission new machinery and equipment
- Fabricate and fit mechanical components as required
- Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records/logbooks
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards while carrying out duties
- Respond promptly to breakdown call-outs and carry out emergency repairs
- Work closely with the engineering team to improve equipment reliability and performance
Requirements
- National Certificate/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or a recognized Trade Test (Class 1) in Fitting & Turning/Millwright
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a Mechanical Artisan, preferably within a manufacturing or FMCG environment
- Sound knowledge of mechanical systems, pumps, gearboxes, and conveyor systems
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and manuals
- Good fault-finding, problem-solving, and hands-on practical skills
- Willingness to work shifts and respond to call-outs when required
- High level of safety awareness and attention to detail
- Good communication and teamwork skills
