We are a fast-growing Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) company seeking a skilled and reliable Mechanical Artisan to join our engineering and maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of plant machinery and equipment to ensure smooth and efficient production operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine inspection, servicing, and preventative maintenance of plant machinery
  • Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs promptly to minimize production downtime
  • Install, align, and commission new machinery and equipment
  • Fabricate and fit mechanical components as required
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records/logbooks
  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards while carrying out duties
  • Respond promptly to breakdown call-outs and carry out emergency repairs
  • Work closely with the engineering team to improve equipment reliability and performance

Requirements

  • National Certificate/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or a recognized Trade Test (Class 1) in Fitting & Turning/Millwright
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a Mechanical Artisan, preferably within a manufacturing or FMCG environment
  • Sound knowledge of mechanical systems, pumps, gearboxes, and conveyor systems
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and manuals
  • Good fault-finding, problem-solving, and hands-on practical skills
  • Willingness to work shifts and respond to call-outs when required
  • High level of safety awareness and attention to detail
