Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting routine services and preventative maintenance across the fleet.
  • Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and related faults and carrying out repairs.
  • Attending to engine, transmission, hydraulic, electrical, and braking system issues.
  • Conducting pre- and post-deployment vehicle inspections and reporting on roadworthiness.
  • Maintaining accurate service records, job cards, and parts/consumables usage.
  • Advising management on vehicle condition, recurring faults, and replacement needs.
  • Responding to breakdowns and, where necessary, attending to vehicles in the field.
  • Ensuring the workshop and tools are kept in a safe, clean, and orderly condition.

Requirements

  • Apprenticeship-trained, with a Class 1 Journeyman qualification in Motor Mechanics.
  • Trade Test certification will be an added advantage.
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ post-qualification experience, preferably working on a mixed fleet of light and heavy vehicles.
  • A valid Class 2 (heavy vehicle) driver’s licence is required.
  • A Defensive Driving Certificate will be an added advantage.
  • Sound knowledge of both light and heavy vehicle systems.
  • Strong technical skills in engine diagnostics, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, transmission repairs, and general braking and suspension work.
  • Hybrid/electric vehicle experience, air-conditioning servicing, auto-electrical work, or welding/fabrication skills will be an added advantage.
  • Good report-writing and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively to breakdowns and emergencies.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and reliability.
  • A clean and verifiable criminal record (as required for the security industry).
