The Marketing and Research Expert will be reporting to the Projects/ Business Advisory Manager. The Expert is expected to undertake agricultural market research, collect and analyze market intelligence, monitor commodity markets and value chains, and provide evidence-based information to support policy formulation, market development, investment promotion, and decision-making in line with the Agricultural Marketing Authority (AMA) mandate. This position plays a strategic role in providing the market intelligence and research needed to strengthen agricultural marketing systems, improve price transparency, promote investment, and enhance the competitiveness of Zimbabwe’s agricultural sector in line with AMA’s statutory mandate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct market research and economic analysis on agricultural commodities and value chains.
  • Collect, analyze and disseminate market intelligence, including prices, production trends, demand, supply, trade and investment opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain agricultural market information systems and databases.
  • Monitor domestic, regional and international agricultural markets and identify emerging trends.
  • Prepare commodity market outlooks, forecasts and early warning reports.
  • Undertake value chain studies to identify marketing constraints and opportunities.
  • Evaluate the impact of agricultural marketing policies, regulations and programmes.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and market assessments for strategic agricultural investments.
  • Produce regular market bulletins, statistical reports, policy briefs and research publications.
  • Support the development of strategies to improve market access, competitiveness and value addition.
