The University invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced, dynamic individuals to fill the following positions that have arisen in its Fashion and Designs Centre at Harare:

The Machinists will report to the Quality Controller.

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • Joining panels to form garments using seams in a production line;
  • Ensuring quality specifications are adhered to as per client request;
  • Reporting fabrics or trims defects to immediate supervisor promptly;
  • Time management and target focused;
  • Following clothing industry rules and regulations according to SI 1 of 1999; and
  • Performing any other duties as assigned by factory management and immediate supervisor.

Requirements

  • Clothing industry service card or reference;
  • Certificate, Diploma or Degree in Clothing related fields is an added advantage; and
  • Proven minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a Machinist in a reputable firm in the clothing industry is a must.
