Job summary

This role will provide strategic and academic leadership, business acumen and management of the organisation to ensure CeSHHAR continues to develop as a centre of excellence in public health research and programming. With strong internal links to LSTM this high-profile role within CeSHHAR has strong support of LSTM’s Senior Management Team. The post holder will build on the existing collaboration with LSTM and other strategic partners. The successful candidate will demonstrate an internationally recognised record of research, publication, research higher degree supervision and research funding. They will hold a strong record of securing significant research funding through competitive processes from a range of funding agencies (e.g. MRC, Wellcome Trust, NIH, Gates Foundation, NIHR, ESRC, FCOA, USAID, CDC, UN agencies).

Key to the success of this role is the post holder’s ability to motivate, support and align diverse teams, drive internationally recognised research, support and develop academic learning as well as collaborate with partners at local, national, and global level to secure research funding.
