Job Purpose:
The Loss Control Officer is responsible for overseeing the security and protection of all company assets, ensuring safety and compliance across company premises.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and supervise security activities at all company premises
- Conduct regular patrols and inspections to ensure the safety of property and personnel
- Prevent unauthorized access, theft, vandalism, and other security breaches
- Maintain surveillance systems and review CCTV footage as needed
- Coordinate with law enforcement and emergency services when necessary
- Conduct investigations and prepare detailed reports on security incidents
- Ensure all security systems, alarms, and procedures are up to date and fully functional
- Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response and evacuation plans
- Conduct loss prevention audits and risk assessments
- Oversee performance of contract security staff
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree or Diploma in Police and Security Studies or a relevant qualification
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong knowledge of security protocols, access control systems, and loss prevention practices
- Proven experience in investigation and report writing
- Familiarity with labour and security laws in Zimbabwe
- Understanding of emergency response planning and coordination
