JOB DESCRIPTION
Zimasco (Pvt) Limited, a major player in Zimbabwe’s Ferrochrome Production, has some exciting and challenging career opportunities at its Mining Division based in Shurugwi. Applications are invited from suitably qualified, competent and experienced individuals to fill the vacant post of Locomotive Assistant in the Division on contract basis.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- 5 “O” Levels including English.
- At least 2 years’ relevant experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist ore hauling from mines by
- Coupling and decoupling loaded and empty scoops.
- Turning railway track set of points for direction of locomotive,
- Inspect scoops and tracks in area of operation before, during and after use.
- Checking train loads during hauling.
- Assist during the lubrication of locomotive.
- Maintain good housekeeping on loco and tracks.
- Be conversant with – tipplers, crusher, loading and shunting operations as multi- tasking is arequisite.
