JOB DESCRIPTION
Location: Harare, Zimbabwe
Reporting to: I.T Director
We are a rapidly expanding International Company which specializes in safe and commercial printing using modern hi- tech biometric printing technologies.Our organisation seeks to recruit an outstanding candidate to join our dynamic team of experts as a Local Technical Manager who are based in Harare, Zimbabwe. The incumbent should be able to take up the tasks and responsibilities listed below as the Local Technical Manager of the Zimbabwe Technical Department.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintaining a thorough knowledge of the block diagram;
- Set up and maintain the servers and network according to the architecture documents validated by the local Project Manager;
- Implement and maintain IT security equipment and systems according to the architecture validated by the Head Office in Lithuania;
- Build and maintain any test benches in accordance with the Production platform and
- Plan rollouts under the guidance of the IT and Operations Manager.
Monitoring the use of technical support materials:
- Monitoring the ticketing solution;
- Training of local agents;
- Troubleshooting and diagnostics of level incidents;
- Escalate to the third line and follow the resolution of these incidences and
- Maintain the assets of all the sites and systems handled by GP Zimbabwe.
Reporting:
- IT Asset Tracking & Management;
- Calculate the availability of the critical production asset and
- Daily volume of production.
Update description document for the production system and test benches which includes:
- Equipment and network diagram and
- List of software and versions installed on the systems.
Plan the rollouts :
- Human Resources;
- Logistical means;
- Equipment and systems and
- Planning.
Carry out and monitor roll-outs:
- Weekly update of roll-out plans and
- Deployment Acceptance Report.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of Windows Servers and Workstation systems;
- Sound knowledge of Windows shell and batch;
- A good knowledge of network designs and the use of basic functions (routing protocols, etc.};
- Strong knowledge of SQL Server databases;
- Some knowledge of PostgreSQL would be an asset;
- Solid background in information systems security;
- Project Management and
- Native English speaker and knowledge of French is a plus.
MANDATORY TRAINING
- +3 years of Higher education in Computer Science with a hardware/network orientation or equivalent professional experience.
