JOB DESCRIPTION

Zimbabwe Power Company is inviting applications from suitably qualified and motivated persons to fill the position of Legal Officer on a fixed term contract position at Head Office.

Post: Legal Officer x 2 Posts (Fixed Term Contract) ZPCHO05/01/21
Reports to: Company Secretary/Legal Advisor

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

• Negotiates, prepares/reviews contracts on behalf of the Company.
• Ensures the Company’s compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Attends to litigation, conciliation, arbitration proceedings on behalf of the Company.
• Provides assistance in and ensures the Company upholds and practices corporate governance principles and ethics.
• Provides assistance in preparing Board meetings and other Board Secretarial services as directed by the Company Secretary/Legal Advisor.
• Ensures adherence to departmental budgets.
• Maintaining and filing of corporate documents.
• Provides administrative support to the Legal department.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• A Bachelor of Law (Honours) Degree (LLBs.) Degree.
• Registration to practise as a legal Practitioner in Zimbabwe.
• Membership of the Law Society of Zimbabwe.
• At least 2 years post graduate practicing.
• Corporate experience as an added advantage.
