DEPARTMENT OF BIOCHEMISTRY (1 POST)

QUALIFICATIONS

• Applicants must hold a Doctoral Degree in Biochemistry, a Masters degree in Biochemistry, and a relevant first degree with at least a 2.1 degree classification.
• Applicants who can show progress towards acquiring a relevant doctoral degree may be considered.
• The successful candidate must be able to teach at least four modules in the discipline.
• Possession of teaching experience at tertiary or University level and a Postgraduate Diploma in Higher and Tertiary Education will be an added advantage.
• The successful applicant will be expected to facilitate learning by undergraduate students preparing for qualifications in Biomedical Sciences and for the MBChB degree, In addition the successful applicant will be expected to supervise research by both undergraduate and postgraduate students in cooperation with other members of the  School of Medical Sciences.
• The successful applicant will expected to train technical staff in various aspects of their research work including operation of equipment such as HPLC, PCR and various chromatographic methods.
• Successful applicants without a Postgraduate Diploma in Higher and Tertiary Education will be required to obtain the same within the first three (3) years of appointment.
