The duties and responsibilities of a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor and Professor are grouped into 5 main categories which are:

(a) Teaching – the incumbent is expected to teach or deliver lectures in accordance to the Department and or Faculty guidelines and standards.

(b) University Service – the incumbent should participate in all Department, Faculty and University activities such as attending meetings, training workshops, conferences and seminars, among others.

(c) Research – the incumbent is expected to engage in active research in his/her area of specialization which benefits both the students and the University

(d) Innovations – leading to tangible products and services

(e) Industrialization –through commercialization of products

FACULTY AGRICULTURE, ENVIRONMENT AND NATURAL RESOURCES MANAGEMENT

DEPARTMENT OF ANIMAL AND WILDLIFE SCIENCES

Post: Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor (1 Post)

Qualifications and Experience

• Applicant must hold a Bachelor of Science Honours in Natural Resources Management; Geography and Environmental Sciences;
• Forest Resources Management and Wildlife Management or Animal and Wildlife Sciences / or related field with at least a 2.1 pass.
• MSc in Ecological Resources Management or any NRM-related program passed with at least a merit.
• A relevant Ph.D. in any related discipline is an added advantage
• Evidence of published research in the relevant field is an added advantage
• Teaching experience at the tertiary level will be an added advantage

Duties and Responsibilities

The candidate should be able;

• To teach undergraduate and postgraduate the following modules;
• Principles of Ecology;
• Sustainable Natural Resource Management;
• GIS and Remote Sensing in NRM and Conservation Biology.
• To supervise undergraduate students in their research projects.
• To engage in collaborative research, University service, and community engagement.
• To establish partnerships with industry and other stakeholders including local communities.
• To foster Education 5.0 through innovation and industrialization.
• To participate in Departmental, Faculty, and Institutional activities.
• To carry out any other duties as assigned by the Chairperson or Dean.
