TWENTY NINE (29) LEARNER SECURITY GUARDS: LOSS CONTROL AND SECURITY SERVICES BRANCH: VARIOUS DEPOTS

Key Responsibilities:

* Safeguarding Railway property, Customer property and infrastructure through patrols, static guards and escorts.
* Conducting Hand-over/Take-over procedures with Security Personnel of contiguous Railways and completing Cross Border Hand-over Forms.
* Liaising with Security Personnel of contiguous Railways in cases of losses in transit.
* Investigating, interrogating, challenging, searching, arresting persons found acting suspiciously on Railway property and recording observations made during own shift or beat in a notebook and reporting to supervisor accordingly.
* Assisting Conductors on Train policing duties, ensuring the safety of revenue, passengers and rolling stock.
* Protecting officials and staff proceeding on pay-outs and banking by providing armed escorts.
* Assisting in Court proceedings as required by attending trials of persons charged with committing crime on Railway property.

Applicants for the posts must:

a) Have a minimum of two G.C.E. ‘O’ Level passes at grade C or better
b) Be between the ages of 18-46 years.
c) Have no criminal record.
d) Have a height of at least 1.75m for men and 1.6m for women.
e) Be physically fit.
