We are seeking to recruit an experienced and qualified Laboratory Manager (D3) to join our Team based in Sandawana, Mberengwa reporting to the General Manager

Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage effectively the operation of the laboratory.

• Manages implementation of SHEQ programs within the Laboratory to achieve desired targets.

• Plans/develops and coordinates implementation of Laboratory systems, policies and procedures in line with Sandawana strategy, customer requirements and international standards / best practice.

• Ensures Laboratory processes are adequately resourced to achieve the required standard of operations.

• Delegates authorities whilst retaining overall responsibility for Laboratory processes.

• Manages staff discipline, motivation, performance of subordinates and succession planning within the Laboratory.

• Reviews Laboratory performance, identifies and manages implementation of continual improvement initiatives.

• Approves test reports and/or certificates of analysis for all internal and external customers.

• Maintains open and constructive communication with customers and/or service providers.

About You

• B.Sc. Degree in Chemistry or equivalent qualification is required; MSc is an added advantage.

• Qualifications in Quality Management Systems (ISO 17025, ISO 9001) including internal auditing are required.

• 5 years hands on experience preferably in a similar position.

• Instrumentation: Prior exposure to AAS, XRD, ICP-OES.
