Provide overall leadership and management of the mine laboratory while ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant analytical services that support geology, mining, processing, and environmental functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the establishment and operation of the on-site laboratory.
  • Implement laboratory systems and ISO/IEC 17025 quality management frameworks.
  • Manage laboratory budgets, staffing, procurement, and equipment maintenance.
  • Oversee grade control, metallurgical, and environmental sample analysis.
  • Drive QA/QC programmes.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Produce laboratory performance reports.

Requirements

  • BSc. in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of laboratory experience.
  • At least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Mining or mineral processing laboratory experience.
  • ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation experience is an advantage.
  • Expertise in fire assay, ICP-OES/MS, AAS, XRF, wet chemistry, LIMS, and QA/QC.
