Background: The Global Health Supply Chain Procurement and Supply Management Project (GHSC-PSM), Zimbabwe Initiative is a USAID program implemented  by Chemonics International Inc. The purpose of GHSC-PSM is to ensure uninterrupted supplies of health commodities insupport of U S. government-funded public health initiatives around the
world.

Responsibilities:
As position title, the employee is responsible for the following principal duties and responsibilities:
Review and approve order quantities based on the data provided in the Report and Requisition (R/R) Form from
laboratory facilities.

  • Ensure on time and accurate reporting of logistics data by facilities
    Monitor stock levels in the system; periodically evaluate system performance
    Receive and approve emergency orders and or redistribute commodities based on national stock status and programme projections.
    Generate orders for laboratory commodities and ensure timely distribution to relevant laboratory facilities.
    Generate Facility Feedback Forms to send to laboratory facilities and summary feedback report to the Provincial Laboratory Scientists
  • Coordinate and conduct trainings in supply chain for laboratory staff
  • Serve as the primary contact with PEPFAR-supported laboratories to resolve issues in product quality, availability, or reporting
  • Maintain a list of la bs contacts at each lab, communicating Changes to the master list
  • Collect and analyze data in reports monthly and enter report data into project records.
  • Prepare a monthly distribution plan and communicate with lab sites about the receipt date (proof of delivery) to calculate the actual lead time.
  • Travel to lab sites to provide supportive supervision and on-the-job training in collaboration with the Directorate of
  • Laboratory Services (DLS) a nd other M OH staff in issues in supply chain management
    in the creation of repotting templates, standard operating procedures, supervision checklists, training materials, key performance indicators, feedback re ports, a nd project reporting as appropriate.
  • Carry out the standardization process of laboratory reagents and consumables’ descriptions and codifications at
    NatPham, PEPFAR, GF and any other procurement agencies that work with the laboratory.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility
    satisfactorily. The qualifications listed below are representative of the required knowledge, skills, and/or abilities
    needed to perform the principal duties.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences or equivalent Training in supply chain management is an added
    advantage
  • At least 3 years of relevant work
    Experience working with Mo H and I-EAJD or donor-funded project will be an advantage
    •Ability to work independently and to manage various projects on a daily basis with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with other staff, USAID, consultants, MOH, and international
    organizations.
  • Computer literacy with demonstrated use of word processing, database and presentation software (Word, Excel,Power Point).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills and strong attention to detail
  • Excellent writing and communications skills in English required.

DUTY STATION: This position is based in Harare, Zimbabwe, with possible travel to other cities in Zimbabwe.
