HWANGE POWER STATION – EXPANSION PROJECT

Zimbabwe Power Company is the leading generator of electrical energy in Zimbabwe and supplies the bulk of the nation’s electric power requirements from its five power stations ZPC is undertaking various projects that are meant to close the gap between electrical energy demand and supply. The company is now on the execution stage of the 600MW Hwange Power Station: Expansion Project. We are therefore inviting suitably qualified and motivated persons for the following vacant position of the project that has arisen on a fixed-term contract basis of up to 18 months:

LABORATORY ASSISTANT (x2)

Qualifications and Experience

• 5 0 Level passes including Mathematics, Science & English Language
• National Diploma in Chemical Technology. Applied Chemistry, Chemistry or equivalent * Previous working experience is an added advantage
• At least 3 years’ experience in a proper plant laboratory.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Performing routine sampling of water, coal, oil 4 limestone
• Sample preparation and sample preservation
• General laboratory housekeeping
• Understanding food laboratory Practices (F LPs)
• Compiance to Safety, Heath, Environment & Quality (SHEQ) principles
