Job Title: IT Technician (10)
Department: Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Unit
Reports To: ICT- Deputy Director and Infrastructure and Support Services
Station: Provinces (10) – Candidates to clearly indicate Province of preference
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-line technical support to all NPAZ staff on hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Install, configure, hardware maintenance and repair computers, photocopiers, printers, scanners, and other ICT equipment.
- Set up and support network systems, including Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and Internet connectivity.
- Monitor network performance and resolve connectivity or security issues promptly.
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of ICT policies, procedures, and standards.
- Support the installation and updating of operating systems, applications, and antivirus software.
- Conduct regular system backups and ensure data protection in line with ICT security protocols.
- Maintain an up-to-date asset register of all ICT equipment within the Authority.
- Provide user training and cyber security awareness on ICT systems.
- Support the development, rollout, and maintenance of case management and NPAZ-related software systems.
- Collaborate with external service providers and ensure timely resolution of ICT service issues.
- Prepare and submit regular ICT performance and incident reports.
Qualifications and Experience
• National Diploma or Higher National Diploma in Information Technology from a recognized institution.
• A Degree in Information Systems / Computer Science will be an added advantage.
• At least 2 years relevant work experience in ICT technical support or systems administration.
Competencies and Attributes
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills essential for troubleshooting and work design.
• Good understanding of computer networks, hardware and software systems.
• Knowledge of ICT security, data backup, and recovery procedures.
• High level of integrity and confidentiality.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality service delivery.
