This role is office based and will also require the Supervisor to travel to our locations in Harare

Summary and Primary Objectives

The IT Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all IT requirements of the business are fulfilled by:

· maintaining the IT infrastructure

· providing technical support to all end users (at Regional Head Office and all of our locations)

· advising and making recommendations on IT solutions

· monitoring, configuration and optimisation of solutions

· advising, enforcing and making improvements to team processes

Scope of work: Technical Duties and Activities

· Lead and manage a team of Support Technicians, including setting goals, providing feedback, and guidance to the team

· Manage resource allocation, workload distribution, and performance evaluations for the Support Technicians

· Develop and implement strategies to enhance the efficiency, effectiveness, and responsiveness of the IT team

· Communicate effectively with team members, other departments, provide timely and accurate updates on incidents

· Working with various operating systems such as Unix, Linux and Windows (7, 8, 10)

· End user administration and technical support

· Training of end users on the various software applications and systems

· Computer networking

o wireless connectivity

o cable management

o switching

o routing

· CCTV systems

o installation

o configuration

o troubleshooting

· Implementing, configuring, and testing software solutions/applications

· Troubleshooting and fixing computer hardware problems and printers

· Providing professional on-site technical support and surveys

· Cybersecurity

o pentesting

o firewalls

o network security

· Work closely with relevant teams (internal and external) to achieve required outcomes

· Provide support for management when specific information/data is requested

· Creating reports and documentation

· Analysing data and reports to identify anomalies

· Compiling and maintaining SOP’s (process documents) and troubleshooting guides

· Liaise with/conduct investigations with providers regarding issues encountered, drive the issue to completion

Extra requirements

· Must have an IT certification/qualification

· Previous experience in a supervisory role (advantageous)

· Experience in providing IT Support to end users (advantageous)

· Experience in working as an IT systems administrator (advantageous)

· Experience in using system administration tools (advantageous)

· Exposure to network administration, CCTV systems, cybersecurity and related technical concepts (advantageous)

· Understands the concept of providing a service

· Ability to think and interact logically

· Ability to work in a team

· Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines

· Willing to assist with additional tasks as required by the business

· Be available to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts when required

· Ability to effectively interface with technical teams (internal and external)

· Good judgement and problem solving skills

· Behavioral traits such as attitude, motivation and time management should be present

· Valid drivers license
