The IT Intern will provide support to the IT Department in maintaining hardware, software, network infrastructure, and other systems. The intern will assist with troubleshooting issues, providing technical support, supporting software development tasks, and ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day IT operations. The incumbent can be either male or female and a fully born-again Christian in ZAOGA FIF aged between 23 and 38.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on technical support by troubleshooting hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues.
  • Support PC hardware, operating systems, application software, minor repairs, and servicing needs.
  • Assist with system maintenance, including updates, backups, antivirus monitoring, and routine health checks.
  • Support software development and application functions, including coding, installation, configuration, testing, debugging, and documentation.
  • Set up user accounts, support onboarding, and prepare basic IT process documentation.
  • Support data management by ensuring database upkeep, accuracy, accessibility, and proper record keeping.
  • Assist in the design, implementation, maintenance, monitoring, and improvement of network infrastructure.
  • Learn and apply basic network protocols, routing, switching, firewall, wireless, and cybersecurity concepts.
  • Support configuration and troubleshooting of network devices, including firewalls, switches, routers, and wireless access points.
  • Assist in the installation, configuration, and use of network monitoring tools.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in software development, networking, cybersecurity, and other IT technologies.

Requirements

  • The prospective candidate must be pursuing an Honours Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, Cybersecurity, or any other related degree.
  • Basic understanding of computer systems, mobile devices, and other technology products.
  • Basic knowledge of networking concepts, including routing, switching, firewalls, and wireless technologies.
  • Basic programming or software development skills.
  • Ability to prepare clear software and technical documentation.
  • Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing with accuracy and attention to detail.
