The new NSSA conducts its business in an honest, accountable, and transparent manner and we seek to recruit like-minded individuals in the following areas:

 

 

Reporting to the Director Investments, the successful candidates will be responsible for creating and managing investments covering fixed income, listed and unlisted equities, infrastructure investments and other alternative investments.

 

 

Key Outputs

 

 

  • Conducting in-depth financial markets research and analysis of financial markets, securities and investment products to identify investment opportunities, evaluate potential returns and recommend investment decisions for the Authority.

  • Review economic data, monetary and fiscal policies, financial statements and market conditions to evaluate financial models and forecasts and recommend sound asset/liability driven investment strategies.

  • Conduct comprehensive due diligence on new investments, recommending long term plausible investments structures that deliver value and fit into NSSA’s strategic mandate.

  • Monitor and manage NSSA’s investment portfolio to ensure optimal performance and alignment with investment objectives, strategies, risk tolerance and strategic mandate.

  • Develop concise financial modelling and evaluation models for optimal use in company valuations, risk-return optimisation and resource allocation within the context of the overall investment portfolio parameters.

  • Develop investment proposals and author investment memorandums to present to technical partners and work with them to gain traction of the investment undertakings.

  • Review, monitor, and report on a timely basis, the financial, strategic, governance and operational performance of investments.

  • Prepare Board papers and other reports for the portfolio under management in line with the standard corporate procedures.

  • Develop sound relationships with key stakeholders to ensure a synergistic and coordinated approach to achieve the overarching investment and social protection objectives.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and ethical standards in all investment undertakings.

  • Ensure that department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets.

 

 

Qualifying Requirements

 

 

  • A Degree in Finance/Economics/Actuarial Science/Operations Research/Accounting/Investments or equivalent.

  • A post graduate business qualification such as an MBA, MSc, CFA or CA is an added advantage.

  • Experience in data analytics and artificial intelligence is an added advantage.

  • At least 5 years’ post graduate track proven record of professional experience in Corporate Finance and Investment functions; hands on experience in deal origination, due diligence, structuring and execution in listed equity, projects, infrastructure, utilities and private equity.

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration or equivalent will be an added advantage.

  • A minimum of 10 years relevant progressive experience.

  • Proven experience in investment management covering due diligence research and deal structuring.

  • Strong knowledge of investment strategies and financial planning.

  • Thorough understanding of macroeconomics and implications on investment management.

  • Strong ethical standards and professionalism.

  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong quantitative corporate finance including financial modelling.

  • Demonstrated analytical and structured approach to work.

  • Proficiency in investment management software and report writing.

  • Demonstrated creativity, taking initiative, multi-task and systematic thinking in a dynamic environment.

  • Ability to manage, support and mentor team members.
