Investment Analyst – ZB Financial Holdings
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the above position which has arisen within our ZB Asset Management business. We are looking for an exceptional, Investment Analyst to join our dynamic Investments Team.

Main Purpose of the Job
As an Investment Analyst, you will be responsible for driving profitable investment decisions and strategies leveraging data, technology and advanced analytical models to generate superior returns for our clients. You will also bridge traditional investment analysis with cutting edge financial technology to recommend appropriate investments, analyse financial gains, assess risks, costs to optimise portfolios and maximise investment performance.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct in depth macro-economic, financial, market, company and security specific research including fundamental and quantitative analysis to identify attractive investment opportunities across various asset classes.
Build, maintain complex financial models, to accurately interpret financial statements, cashflows, other business securities data and forecast future performance to maximise investment performance and determine the intrinsic value of securities.
Trade on stock markets, bonds and other investment securities, negotiating to achieve the best prices to maximise investment returns and minimise losses.
Optimise the Business’ liquidity position to ensure excess capital is strategically invested to maximise returns and execute timely investment liquidations that enhance capital utility.
Prepare, present clear, well supported buy, sell or hold recommendations to portfolio managers and senior management, concisely articulating the investment rationale, associated risks and expected outcomes.
Track, analyse and report on portfolio returns, asset allocation and benchmark performance
Perform valuation of investment securities and compare with their market prices to determine appropriate investment recommendations.
Produce performance and risk attribution reports explaining returns, benchmarks, running risk and sensitivity analysis to quantify downside exposures and ensure portfolio alignment with client mandates.
Assess market, credit and liquidity risks using data analytics and predictive modelling and work closely with developers to enhance digital investment tools and dashboards.
Prepare and present periodic market performance reports gathering market, industry intelligence detailing recommendations and performance against targets.
Perform any other relevant duties as may be assigned by the Investments Manager.
Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Banking, Economics, Accounting, Business, Management, or an equivalent field.
A Professional Certification in Financial Risk Management or demonstrated progress towards a Chartered Financial Analyst qualification is a pre-requisite.
A minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience in investments market research, financial modelling, portfolio analysis and risk assessment.
Proven proficiency in building robust financial and valuation models inclusive of strong statistical and quantitative skills to interpret large, complex datasets.
Key Competencies
Demonstrated proficiency in the ability to move beyond financial data, interpret the results of complex models and communicate actionable insights and limitations to non-technical stakeholders.
Thorough knowledge of financial instruments, capital markets, economic indicators and global geopolitical developments.
Strong negotiation and client relationship management skills for preparing concise, persuasive research reports and presentations.
High levels of integrity and professionalism in handling sensitive client information.
Superior written and verbal communication skills which are solution oriented with a high level of attention to detail, accuracy and efficiency.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities supported by excellent critical and analytical thinking skills.
