Reports To: Manager Investigations
Duties and Responsibilities
• Receiving crime reports made to the Commission
• Investigating corruption cases, fraud and other mandate offenses
• Conducting surveillance for the detection of crime and gather intelligence on suspected cases of corruption and mandate offenses
• Attending scenes of crime, gather evidence and compile dockets
• Taking accused persons to court
• Following up corruption and other mandate cases before the courts
• Making entries in Departmental registers update records or cases being handled by Investigations Directorate
• Attending meetings with stakeholders on matters to do with combating corruption
• Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
Qualifications, Experience and Attributes
• Degree in Police or Security Studies, Forensic science, Accounting or other equivalent qualifications
• Certificate in Prosecution, Diploma in Police and Security Studies, Forensic Science or Law; A minimum of 10 years’ experience in an environment of crime prevention and investigations, Audit would be an added advantage
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
• Ability to work under pressure
• An appreciation of various legal instruments on combating and investigating crime
• Interrogation and evidence gathering skills
• High level of integrity
