1. MANDATE OF APPOINTING OFFICERS OF PARLIAMENT
Section 154 of the Constitution stipulates that the Clerk of Parliament and other Staff of Parliament are appointed in terms of conditions of service approved from time to time by the Committee on Standing Rules and Orders (CSRO) and are Public Officers, distinct and separate from the Public Service. These appoi ntments are on an open, performance-based contract subject to the provisions of the Officers of Parliament (Terms of Service) Regulations. 2018. as amended from time to time.
Applications are, therefore, invited from suitably qualified and experienced Zimbabwean citizens below the age of fifty (50), with a clean disciplinary and criminal record, to fill the following vacant positions.

Job Description
⦁ Interprets accurately and simultaneously vernacular languages spoken during plenary sittings of the House and Parliamentary Portfolio Committee business.
⦁ Produces educational material on Parliament for schools, civic society and the general public in vernacular languages.
⦁ Produces Parliament articles and other publications.
x Covers Parliament events such as workshops, seminars and conferences through photography and writing.
⦁ Translates Parliament fact sheets and other documents into local languages.
x Assists in conducting public hearingsand educational outreach programmes.
x Develops Parliamentary terminology in liaison with various stakeholders: and
x Performs any other duties as may be assigned, from to time, by the Director Public Relations.
Minimum Qualifications & Work Experience
x Adegree in Translation and Interpretation Studies or its equivalent from a reputable university.
⦁ Apostgraduate qualification in Education or Public Relations is an added advantage.
x A minimum of 2years relevant working experience.
x Knowledge of other local languages is an added advantage.
