INTERNAL AUDITOR – POTRAZ 330 views

VACANCY 

This position exists to provide independent and objective assurance and consulting services by ensuring the timely execution of risk-based internal audits under the direction of the Audit Team Leader and in accordance with the annual plan, as well as assisting with other audit matters projects.

The position reports to the Audit Team Leader.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform analysis, critiques and evaluations to determine legal, contractual, financial compliance, economy, efficiency and performance effectiveness of the activities of the area under review.

• Audit accounting, operations and practices to determine accuracy and compliance with standards, best practices, procedures and law.

• Perform audits of public fund expenditures administered by the POTRAZ.

• Review internal control system procedures and make recommendations.

• Identify the key control points of the system.

• Gain unrestricted access to all functions, records, property and personnel in order to audit all the functions in the organisation.

• Compile draft audit report.

• Provide the respective Divisional Directors with draft audit reports of the results and recommendations of each audit analysis, review or investigation performed for their comments.

• Compile final audit reports that incorporate adequate management responses to audit findings and recommendations for review by the Audit Team Leader before distribution.

• Assist the Audit Team Leader in updating the Internal Audit Manual to ensure accuracy.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or Internal Auditing.

• CIA, CISA or any other relevant professional qualification.

• Membership of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).

• At least 5 years hands-on experience.
