QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES
⦁ Degree in Auditing and or Accounting, from a recognized university
⦁ Postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage
⦁ Membership of the Institute of Auditors/Public Accountants
⦁ Computer literacy
⦁ Clean class 4 driver’s license
⦁ Sound knowledge of the operations of Local Authorities
⦁ The mature individual is at least 30 years of age, with a clean record of service
⦁ No criminal record
⦁ At least 3years of post-qualification experience in a local authority or similar environment at the management level
DUTIES
⦁ Ensure effective and efficient management of the section
⦁ Development and implementation of the audit plan for the Council, policies and risk management
⦁ Monitor the integrity of the systems of the local authority, and any formal announcements relating to the council’s performance, reviewing significant reporting judgments contained in them
⦁ Review the council’s internal controls and, risk management systems
⦁ Monitor and review the effectiveness of the council’s internal audit function
⦁ Assist external auditors to effectively carry out their review function
⦁ Ensure that all audit reports and recommendations are implemented
