Intern Knowledge Management Officer- Farm Orphan Support Trust (FOST)

FOST is looking for an Intern to fill a vacancy that has arisen within the organisation. FOST is a local NGO registered in 1997 as a Private Voluntary Organisation (PVO 3/97) with the aim to build capacity of communities to respond to the needs of orphaned and vulnerable children in Zimbabwe with particular attention to those in farming communities. FOST maintains a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY on Sexual Exploitation and Abuse.

Job summary

• The Knowledge Management Officer will be responsible for the promotion of the organisation’s vision and goals at community, national, regional and international level;
• S/he should be experienced, enthusiastic and committed to the welfare of OVC;
• The person must have relevant educational qualification;
• The person must have good communication skills in Shona and English;
• Must have a clean class three (4) driver’s licence.

The duties and responsibilities of the Knowledge Management Officer

• Data collection, collation, analysis, storage, retrieval and updating to the server;
• Creating beneficiary profiles and writing of impact analysis;
• Preparing project proposals or concept papers to solicit new program or project funds;
• Preparing monthly, quarterly, annual review and project terminative reports, thematic information sheets, ad hoc reports for submission to current partners / donors;
• Providing support to field programme staff;
• Writing articles for updating of the FOST website;
• Packaging organizational reports and documents;
• Writing articles for production for quarterly newsletters covering the FOST programme;
• Production of information leaflets and brochures and other publicity information;
• Filing and maintenance of a Resource Centre for use by FOST staff and partners; Supporting FOST partners, stakeholders and programme staff to record and document their activities and experiences in a variety of ways;
• Website management;
• Facebook, twitter and google account postings and updating.

Qualifications

The Knowledge Management Officer should have a degree level qualification, or equivalent, or related field such as Social / Development, Monitoring and Evaluation, and at least 6 months experience of work in the NGO sector.
