Key Responsibilities
- Promoting positive employee-employer relations and workplace harmony
- Addressing employee grievances, complaints, and disciplinary matters
- Coordinating disciplinary hearings and investigations
- Ensuring that disciplinary procedures comply with company policy and labour legislation
- Facilitating grievance resolution processes
- Ensuring that the organisation complies with labour legislation and statutory obligations
- Reviewing and updating HR and industrial relations policies in line with legal developments and best practice
- Advising management on legal risks related to employment matters
- Liaising with labour authorities on labour matters
- Reviewing employee relations policies, disciplinary codes, grievance procedures and workplace regulations
- Supporting leadership in workforce management and organisational change processes
- Monitoring employee morale and workplace climate
- Recommending strategies to improve engagement, productivity and retention
- Developing and implementing initiatives that promote employee wellbeing and a positive organisational culture
- Maintaining accurate records of disciplinary cases, grievances, negotiations and labour disputes
- Preparing industrial relations reports for senior management
Requirements
- A Degree in Human Resources Management/ Social Science
- Masters Degree in Human Resources/Business Administration/Business Leadership from a reputable university
- A post-grad Diploma in Industrial Relations will be an added advantage
- Membership of a recognised HR related professional body
- At least 5 years relevant experience at managerial level
- A clean Class Four Driver’s Licence
