Position: ICT Officer

Reports To: Director-General

Station: Harare (Zimbabwe Foreign Service Institute)

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

 

• Recommend to the Institute the formulation and/or reviews of ICT policies, programmes and procedures in line with current trends.

• Provide technical support for the maintenance and development of information systems at the Institute.

• Recommend to the Institute, hardware and software development, purchase and use at the Institute.

• Implement robust physical and logical controls, that is; creation and maintenance of user accounts, data encryption, profiling, strong passwords, CCTVs and biometric solutions among others.

• Research on solutions to emerging ICT systems security threats and keep the Institute abreast with new trends in Information and Communication Technology.

• Document system problems and resolutions for future reference.

• Evaluate user needs in consultation with the line Departments.

 

 

Qualifications, Experience and Attributes

 

 

• A Degree in Information Systems /Computer Science/Business Management and Information Technology or equivalent.

• A Masters Degree is an added advantage

• Experiential Knowledge or an appreciation of SAP BASIS OR ORACLE DBA/Developer would be considered.

• An understanding of ISO 2000 requirements for ICT governance advisory services.

• Knowledge of networking, PC maintenance and repair.

• A smart and strategic thinker.

• A character of integrity.
