**VACANCY NOTICE: HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER – HARARE**
**Role Purpose**
The SMEDCO invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the position of **Human Resources Manager**, based at Head Office in Harare. The successful candidate will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and implement Human Capital strategies and policies aligned to the Corporation’s strategic and statutory objectives.
- Oversee learning, talent development, and succession initiatives to strengthen organisational capability and leadership depth.
- Manage performance management systems and employment contracts to drive accountability and a high-performance culture.
- Ensure compliance with labour legislation and HR best practices, keeping abreast of emerging trends in people management.
- Advise Executive Management, line managers and employees on HR, employee relations, and workforce management matters.
- Promote a positive and productive workplace culture through effective employee engagement and relations initiatives.
- Provide workforce analytics and HR metrics to support informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Lead workforce planning, talent acquisition, retention, and succession planning to meet current and future business needs.
- Oversee payroll, HR records, and HR systems to ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Monitor compensation and benefits trends and provide benchmarking insights to support equity and competitiveness.
Requirements
- A recognised Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Social Sciences or related field.
- A postgraduate qualification (e.g. MBA) is an added advantage.
- A minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in a managerial HR role within a service-oriented institution.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgement.
- Familiarity with Integrated Results-Based Management (IRBM) frameworks is an advantage.
