The Human Resource Officer manages and directs all human resource (HR) tasks for the organization. The incumbent sit at the top of the HR department and take the lead when it comes to any and all human resource matters and functions. HRO must educate, train, monitor, problem-solve, and ensure company HR policy is followed across all employees, managers, and executives. Additional HR Officer responsibilities include directing and overseeing the hiring, training, and dismissal processes and administering and monitoring benefit programs. The Officer may also work with the General Secretary to strategically plan valuable HR changes and subsequently take action to implement them. Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills are a must as a Human Resource Officer. As a direct connection to employees, the Officer must be keenly aware of employee relations ensuring they are healthy throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities
- Develops and reviews Human Resource strategies, policies and procedures in support of the Reformed Church in Zimbabwe’s vision and mission;
- Interprets the organization’s policies and labour legislation and ensures the organisation complies with the same;
- Manages the organization’s recruitment, selection, promotion and employee transfer and exit processes and ensures that all departments and sections are adequately staffed;
- Handles terminations of employment contracts and manages the contract renewal process;
- Develops, reviews and oversees the implementation of the organization’s performance management system and policy;
- Recommends and administers approved compensation and benefit plans in compliance with the organization’s standards and policies;
- Manages the payroll for the entire organisation;
- Recommends and manages the approved welfare support programs for employees;
- Manages staff satisfaction and, develops and implements programmes designed to improving the same;
- Manages industrial relations in the company and is responsible for maintaining employee discipline;
- Administers the organization’s code of conduct and assist management and staff in interpreting and applying the same;
- Coordinates the activities of workers committees and works council;
- Develops and implements appropriate succession and retention strategies for all departments;
- Manages and maintains all staff records;
- Develops and manages the Human Resource Department budget;
- Oversees the learner ship and development programs of graduate trainees, apprentices and attachés;
- Keeps management adequately informed on the prevailing human resources situation by producing relevant periodic reports;
- Manages fleet of vehicles;
- Develops and manages the training calendar and maintains training records and other relevant documents;
- Assists departmental heads in identifying staff training needs and interventions;
- Assists in coordinating the implementation of Reformed Church in Zimbabwe training policy and assessing value from the same;
- Conducts assessments on relevant staff developmental programs to be undertaken;
- Completes all other tasks as assigned by the General Secretary.
Requirements
- A Degree in Human Resource Management OR any Social Science Degree plus a professional qualification in Human Resources Management
- Masters Degree in Human Resources will be an added advantage
- Certificate/ Diploma in payroll administration is an added advantage
- Knowledgeable in dealing with labour issues
- 5+ years of management experience in HR
- Highly computer literate in Microsoft Suite (especially Excel) and various HR software programs including HRIS
