Responsibility
The incumbent will report directly to the Group Chief Executive Officer.
Key Job Purpose
The Head Public Relations will be responsible for driving NetOne’s brand reputation, managing relationships with media and key stakeholders, ensuring alignment with regulatory and socio-political environments, and building strong communication strategies aligned with the business objectives.
Principal Job Accountabilities

Develops and implements a comprehensive Public Relations strategy that aligns with NetOne’s mission, values, and business objectives.

Advises Executive leadership on public messaging, media strategy, and reputation management.

Builds and maintains strong relationships with key media houses, journalists, government agencies, and other strategic partners.

Acts as company spokesperson and leads all public communication on issues of public interest, including regulatory developments and service updates.

Oversees the preparation and dissemination of press releases, media statements, and executive speeches.

Monitors public sentiment, manages online reputation, and oversees responses to digital media narratives.

Leads the development and execution of crisis communication strategies, including response plans for service disruptions, regulatory issues, and public controversies.

Acts as the NetOne’s brand custodian to ensure effective, consistent advertising and brand identity management.

Collaborates with internal stakeholders to ensure consistency and alignment in corporate messaging across all platforms.

Oversees the communication of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and sustainability programs, highlighting NetOne’s community impact.

Monitors digital trends and manages online reputation through proactive engagement and real-time response.

Manages external agencies and consultants to deliver campaigns, events, and media placements on time and on the NetOne brand.
Qualifications and Experience

Minimum of a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Media/Journalism/Communication or related field.

An MBA/MBL will be an added advantage.

At least 8 years’ progressive working experience in PR or Corporate Communications, of which 5 years should be at a Senior Management level.

Strong understanding of the Zimbabwean media landscape and regulatory environment.

Demonstrated experience in crisis communication, media handling, and corporate reputation management.
