Reporting directly to the General Manager

Job Brief

We are looking for an experienced individual to carry out the general management of civil works in infrastructure and superstructure development for a wide range of construction projects from beginning to completion.

Key Performance Areas

⦁ Organizing and overseeing projects and ensuring that they are completed within the timeline and budget.
⦁ Planning all construction operations and schedules to ensure that deadlines are met.
⦁ Developing and managing a detailed project schedule and work plan that covers all project areas such as scope management, time management, risk management, cost control management, quality management, and meetings management.
⦁ Project costing, interpreting designs and bills of quantities.
⦁ Collaborating with project engineers to determine the specifications of a project.
⦁ Negotiating contracts with various stakeholders to reach profitable agreements.
⦁ Ensuring the proper execution of all activities to ensure the smooth fabrication and construction of superstructures within the stipulated schedule.
⦁ Ensuring the availability of drawings, specifications, job instructions, material deliveries, and tools at work sites.
⦁ General management of civil works in infrastructure and superstructure development

Person Specifications

⦁ A technical Degree or a Higher National Diploma preferably in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
⦁ Project Planning and Management qualifications will be an added advantage
⦁ A mature person above 50 years with a minimum of 5 years experience in the construction industry.
⦁ In-depth understanding of project management software tools, methodologies and best practices
⦁ Ability to manage several projects and complete projects according to outlined scope, budget and timelines.
⦁ Ability to manage risks, cost control, tasks, and meetings
⦁ Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
⦁ Excellent organizational and time-management skills
⦁ Strong leadership skills, self-starter, team player and results-oriented
⦁ Should possess a clean class 4 driver’s license
