Job Summary
Overall objective of the job: Ensure the Bank achieves its strategic objectives within the confines of applicable laws, regulations, standards of best practice and guidelines.
Duties And Responsibilities
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop and Implement enterprise wide risk management methodologies and models and institutes policies and guidelines.
• Identifying, quantifying, monitoring, and controlling the Bank’s risk
• Establish or enhance risk mitigation and internal control policies and procedures in tile Bank.
• Communicating the risk position of the Bank to Executive management and the Board through regular reports to line and stall managers, management, and Board Committees.
• Overseeing the effective implementation of, and adherence to, Anti-Money Laundering regulations within the Bank by developing, implementing, and maintaining relevant policies and procedures.
• Performs the role of the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO)for the bank by implementing effective suspicious activity reporting standards in accordance with the Money.
• Coordinates proactive regulatory engagements and ensures an effective regulatory relationship plan is in place to manage relationships with relevant regulatory authorities.
Qualifications And Experience
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE ANDATTRIBUTES
• First degree in Risk, Business, Commerce or Law related degree
• Post Graduate Qualification, Master of Business Administration (MBA) or Master’s in business leadership VABL)
• Certification in Compliance Management
• 10 years’ experience at a Managerial level in Risk management in a financial institution
• Hands-on experience in managing business risks
• Good knowledge of risk analysis and management techniques
• Ability to perform financial analysis and forecasting
