Wise Owl School, a rapidly growing and highly results-oriented educational institution, is seeking an exceptional and visionary leader to fill the pivotal role of Head of Academics. The Role:
The Head of Academics will be responsible for the overall strategic leadership, management, and development of the school’s academic programmes. This includes curriculum oversight, pedagogical innovation, staff professional development, assessment strategies, and ensuring the highest standards of teaching and learning across all levels.
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Leadership: Provide expert leadership in the implementation, development, and continuous review of the Cambridge International curriculum (Primary, Secondary, and Advanced Levels), ensuring alignment with school vision and educational best practices.
Pedagogical Excellence: Champion innovative teaching methodologies and learning strategies that promote active engagement, critical thinking, and deep understanding among students.
Staff Development: Lead, mentor, and inspire academic staff, fostering a culture of continuous professional growth, collaboration, and high performance.
Academic Performance: Oversee student assessment, data analysis, and intervention strategies to monitor progress, identify areas for improvement, and ensure exceptional academic results.
Quality Assurance: Implement robust quality assurance processes for teaching and learning, ensuring adherence to Cambridge International standards and internal benchmarks.
Resource Management: Effectively manage academic resources, including textbooks, technology, and learning materials, to support effective teaching and learning.
Strategic Planning: Contribute to the school’s overall strategic planning, ensuring academic goals are integrated and aligned with the broader institutional vision.
Parent and Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate effectively with parents and other stakeholders regarding academic policies, student progress, and curriculum developments.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:
A Master’s degree in Education, a relevant academic discipline, or Educational Leadership.
A minimum of 5 years of senior academic leadership experience within a reputable educational institution.
Demonstrable in-depth knowledge and practical experience with the Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) syllabus across various levels ( IGCSE, AS/A Level) is essential.
Proven track record of driving academic improvement and achieving outstanding results.
Strong understanding of modern pedagogical approaches, assessment strategies, and educational technology.
Exceptional leadership, communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
Ability to inspire, motivate, and develop a team of diverse educators.
A commitment to holistic education and student-centred learning.
