Key Responsibilities
- Produce specifications and designs of new public lighting, traffic signals and municipal electrical infrastructure and modifications.
- Design, selection and installation of all electrical plant and equipment such as power transformers, power generators, motors and motor control centres, refrigeration units and air-conditioners, building lighting, heating and ventilation systems.
- Design and installation of new public lighting schemes.
- Troubleshooting and repairing malfunctioning equipment, appliances and apparatus.
- Constructing and fabricating parts using hand tools and specifications.
- Ordering electrical supplies and equipment.
- Repairing electrical faults at all municipal installations.
- Supervising subordinate employees.
- Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor from time to time.
Requirements
- National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Skilled Worker Class 1 and Electrical Engineering Certificate.
- A clean Class 4 or Class 3 driver’s licence.
- A minimum of 6 years’ experience.
- No criminal record.
- Results-oriented.
