Proserve Executive Appointments (on behalf of an established manufacturer and supplier of fast moving consumer goods in the agro-processing industry). Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic growth and innovation agenda, transforming the company into a vertically integrated, export-driven agribusiness. The role is pivotal in driving diversification, market expansion, and product innovation, while ensuring profitability, resilience, and sustainable value creation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Coffee Business Turnaround, focusing on origination, processing modernization, and market development.
- Develop and implement strategies for new product development in superfoods (e.g. blueberries), animal nutrition, food & beverages, meat and poultry.
- Position the Company as a regional leader in commodity trading, establishing a dedicated trading fund and tactical market operations.
- Modernize processing facilities to meet international sustainability and traceability standards.
- Relaunch and professionalize grower schemes and contract farming programs.
- Provide farmer support systems (training, inputs, extension services) to secure consistent supply.
- Secure long-term export contracts in premium markets e.g Europe, Middle East, China, India.
- Build alliances with global technical partners e.g. Dubai Multi Commodities Centre e.t.c
- Cultivate institutional relationships with banks, asset managers, and trade finance institutions to unlock capital and growth opportunities.
- Ensure profitability and resilience against currency depreciation and commodity price volatility.
Requirements
- Must have a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Agribusiness, Finance, Economics, or relate field.
- A Degree in Business Administration, Agribusiness, Finance, Economics, or equivalent.
- At least 10 years of leadership experience in Agribusiness, Commodities, or Investment Management.
- Top notch negotiation and market analysis skills.
- Good knowledge of international trade laws and regulations.
- Entrepreneurial drive with resilience to lead complex turnarounds.
- Ability to thrive in dynamic, high-growth, and cross-border trade environments.
