Reports To: Group Chief Executive Officer About the Position Harare Institute of Public Health (HIPH) invites applications from suitably qualified, innovative and results-oriented professionals for the position of Group Corporate Affairs Manager. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership in corporate affairs by overseeing marketing, communications, public relations, human resources and administrative services across the Group. The role is responsible for strengthening the Group’s corporate image, protecting its reputation, driving stakeholder engagement and ensuring the effective management of people and administrative functions. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in promoting organisational excellence, enhancing brand visibility and supporting the achievement of the Group’s strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing comprehensive corporate affairs, marketing and communication strategies aligned with the Group’s strategic objectives.
  • Leading integrated marketing campaigns across digital, print, social media and public relations platforms to strengthen brand visibility and market presence.
  • Safeguarding and promoting the Group’s corporate identity by ensuring consistent branding and messaging across all business units.
  • Serving as the primary liaison with the media, managing public relations activities and responding to media enquiries while protecting the Group’s reputation.
  • Developing and implementing effective internal communication strategies that promote employee engagement and align staff with organisational values.
  • Leading the Human Resources function by overseeing recruitment, induction, employee relations, performance management, staff development and organisational culture initiatives.
  • Ensuring compliance with labour legislation, corporate policies and best human resource management practices.
  • Managing disciplinary processes, grievance handling and employee wellness initiatives in accordance with Group policies.
  • Overseeing administrative services, including institutional facilities, office assets, security services, cleaning services and general office operations.
  • Coordinating key institutional activities and ensuring the effective administration of academic and corporate support services.
  • Preparing departmental budgets, monitoring performance indicators and ensuring the efficient utilisation of departmental resources.
  • Providing strategic advice to Executive Management on corporate affairs, communications, stakeholder engagement and organisational development.

Requirements

  • A Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Communications, Marketing, Business Studies or another related discipline from a recognised institution.
  • A recognised professional qualification in Public Relations, Marketing or a related field will be an added advantage.
  • Membership of a recognised professional body will be an added advantage.
  • A minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years’ progressive experience in Human Resources, Marketing, Public Relations or Corporate Communications.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing corporate communications, brand management and stakeholder engagement.
  • Proven leadership experience in human resource management, administration and organisational development.
  • Experience developing and implementing strategic marketing and communication initiatives.
  • A strong track record of managing multidisciplinary teams within a dynamic organisational environment.
  • Strong leadership and strategic management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, public relations and media engagement skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Human Resources Management and labour legislation.
  • Strong marketing, branding and corporate communications expertise.
