Harare Institute of Public Health (HIPH) offers a wide range of accredited programmes under the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology Development, including degree and non-degree programmes in collaboration with reputable international universities. The institution’s mission is to develop a competent healthcare workforce through the utilisation of science, technology and mathematics in heritage-based solutions for public health in Africa and beyond. HIPH is inviting applications from suitably qualified, innovative and results-oriented professionals for six available positions as it implements its approved new organogram. The Group Chief Executive Officer will provide overall strategic, financial and operational leadership for HIPH. The successful candidate will drive sustainable growth, strengthen corporate governance, enhance organisational performance and build strong stakeholder relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership to achieve the Group’s long-term vision and objectives.
  • Develop and implement corporate strategies, policies and business plans.
  • Advise the Board on governance, regulatory and risk management matters.
  • Build relationships with Government, regulators, investors, development partners and stakeholders.
  • Drive business growth through new opportunities and strategic partnerships.
  • Oversee financial management, investment analysis and resource allocation.
  • Monitor operational performance across business units.
  • Promote accountability, efficiency and continuous improvement.
  • Lead talent management, succession planning and organisational culture initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with governance principles and statutory requirements.

Requirements

  • A Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmaceuticals, Medicine, Business, Commercial Studies or a related discipline.
  • MBA, Master of Business Leadership (MBL) or equivalent postgraduate qualification.
  • A PhD or Doctorate will be an added advantage.
  • 10-15 years’ progressive executive management experience.
  • At least five years’ experience at senior executive level.
  • Proven experience leading diversified business units.
