Job Summary
Seke Rural Home-Based Care (SRHBC) is a community-based organisation that operates in Seke District. The organisation implements sustainable development initiatives to improve people’s livelihood, Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH), HIV Prevention, HIV and AIDS care and support as well as safeguarding. SRHBC is implementing an OVC activity with the goalof ‘Sustaining Prevention, Care and Support Services for Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) in Zimbabwe’. The activity aims to improve health, safety, education and stability outcomes for vulnerable children, adolescents and youth living with HIV in Seke District. Duties And Responsibilities
The grants officer will support across all activity areas, including collaborating with finance to ensure efficient. S/He will serve as the system administrator of the organisation; monitoring of the grant to ensure accurate and adequate papers and electronic documents retention and collaborate with the activity team.
The Grant Officer will be responsible for running the project funding, ensuring that all financial policies are complied with, and preparation of financial budgets and reports, ensuring prudent use of the activity resources.
Specifically working on the following, among other duties:
• Assist in formulating activity budgets, monitoring and tracking expenditures in-line with the approved budget(s).
• Variance analysis, updating pipeline and communicating burn rate with management and respective officers.
• Sensitizing staff members on funding partner regulations and compliance.
• Plan and monitor the disbursement of funds to staff and stakeholders.
• Check supporting documents to ensure requests and expenditures are fully acquitted in compliance with the finance and procedures manual.
• Assist in payroll processing and ensure timeous submission of statutory deductions.
• Process bank reconciliations, assist in asset management and audit preparations.
• Assist in planning of administrative day to day duties and supervise subordinate staff.
Qualifications And Experience
Bachelor’s Degree or its International Equivalent in Accounting, Business Administration or Related Field; Or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience sufficient to successfully perform the key responsibilities of the job; Graduate of ACCA, CIMA, ICSA, SAA, IAC, HND or any other relevant professional qualification will be relevant; Familiarity with US Government grant rules and regulations, procurement and auditing standards will be an added advantage.
• Minimum of 5 years in a similar position with a program supported by USAID andother international donors
• Proven understanding of awards management cycle
• Good organizational skills and ability to manage a complex workload and deadlines
• Highly effective administration skills, including computing, word processing, and
data management and visualization
• Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
• Strong time management and organization skills, flexibility, excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to work collaboratively on a wide range of issues
• Ability to diplomatically and patiently forge consensus between diverse stakeholders
on grant-making issues
• Self-motivated and committed to SRHBC mission and values
• Must be a holder of a clean class 4 driver’s licence.
