Job Description

To perform all tasks related to the SGCP Zimbabwe – R&D Materials Scientist training
programme, aligned to gain exposure and support the R&D department in developing new and more efficient uses of local and imported raw materials including substitutes in the various finished goods formulations with a view to reduce costs whilst maintaining or improving the performance of the finished products

Duties and Responsibilities

As a Material Engineering GT, you will be responsible for examining the structure and properties
of raw materials to determine their compatibility with the desired final product, such as plasters
and mortars. You will test raw materials and products to assess their performance under various
conditions, including heat and prolonged use. Additionally, you will assist the R&D team in
developing prototypes, conducting laboratory and plant trials, and defining raw material
specifications. You will also investigate the root causes of product failures or customer
dissatisfaction and implement corrective actions where applicable.

Qualifications and Experience
