Are you a recent graduate with a passion for Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and a desire to kickstart your career? Cicada is looking for a Junior GIS/Mapping Technician to join our dynamic team and contribute to exciting projects across our group.This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual to gain hands-on experience in a supportive environment, developing your skills while providing essential GIS services for our forestry and agricultural operations.

What you’ll bring to the role:

• GIS proficiency: Familiarity with GIS software, preferably ArcGIS and QGIS. Experience with Fieldmaps is an advantage.
• Data Savvy: Ability to undertake GIS services and related functions, including data analysis, processing, and visualisation of project objectives in meaningful and understandable ways (maps, graphs, charts, spreadsheets).
• Technical Acumen: High level of IT competency with experience across all Microsoft Office packages.
• Independent & Collaborative: Ability to work independently as guided by your line manager, produce analyses and presentations as instructed, and contribute to a dedicated team.
• Problem-Solver: Patient and able to solve problems on the fly.
• Strong Communicator: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare maps, reports, and other relevant information to a high standard.
• Detail-Oriented: Extremely high attention to detail, with the ability to work to tight deadlines.
• Bonus points if you have: Knowledge of biodiversity measurement frameworks.
